What we offer

Netball is one of the main sports we offer for the girls here at Thomas Telford School. Netball is a central part of the PE timetable, where students will learn netball for 6 weeks of their PE lessons. We offer session 3 for all year groups where we have excellent numbers, we have been able to deliver match play coaching where we have seen huge progress from all teams. We enjoy taking our teams on an annual Netball Tour which in recent years has been held at Condover where we have won the competition in every year group. We also offer the opportunity to watch a super league netball match to inspire and allow the girls to see the fast-paced level of game.

We are lucky enough to have the Telford and Wrekin league close by which is largely attended and offers great weekly competition for our girls. We also enter into the Sisters in Sport League which allows the girls to play against teams all over the country, the competition is high as it is a great opportunity to play at high pace and level. We also enter the County Cup, in which we have had great success. For our 6th form girls we play in the British Colleges West Midlands League 2. Aside from the competitions we love to offer friendlies against our local neighbouring schools, we have some great links with numerous schools so teams can expect to be play regular matches to practice their skills.

Session 3 opportunities

Year 7 to 6th form Netball sessions run throughout the week for all teams.

We are fortunate enough to be have two full sized netball courts to facilitate 4 teams. We often welcome teams to play on our courts as well as attending away fixtures.

Recent Successes

We are currently Telford and Wrekin U15 Champions, winning this league as well as Our U13 being runners up. As for 6thform, we are always placing in the top 5 of the division, as one of the top State School 6thforms. We are lucky enough to have some excellent netballers who are playing outside of school for county teams as well as Academies such as Seven Stars and Nova.
