Badminton

What we offer

At Thomas Telford School badminton remains one of our most popular indoor sports. Our session 3 badminton club is often over subscribed and students use the club to practice their skills ready for the inter-school fixtures that take place throughout the winter period. Students also have access to badminton during their curriculum time where they can learn and develop skills. Badminton club is inclusive and any student is able to sign up and play from those who haven’t played before through to our team players. Students with a passion for Badminton can then progress to school competitions and regional/county tournaments.

Competitions

As a school we play a range of Badminton fixtures during the autumn/winter season. Our inter-school fixtures against local schools provide a great opportunity for fun and competitive Badminton. Alongside this we also enter the Regional and County championships that enable our Badminton players to play against some excellent competition.

Session 3 opportunities

Session 3 Badminton runs throughout the winter months on designated evenings after school. Students can sign up for Badminton club using the school’s session 3 website and fixtures will be shared with students following team selections.

Facilities

Our Sports Hall courts provide the ideal playing surface for competitive badminton.

Recent Successes

In recent years we have seen a great deal of success within Badminton. We have seen teams progress to regional and county finals and developed a successful programme within school that we will look to develop in the 2021/2022 season.
