Gymnastics

What we offer

At Thomas Telford School, our gymnastics programme is utilised by a range of students. Some who participate outside of school at a club/county level, as well as those students who have never done gymnastics before. It is also popular with our dance students who are looking to improve their gymnastics ability. Our gymnastics programme runs during the autumn/winter terms, where training is available during session 3.

Competitions

There are two gymnastics competitions throughout the autumn/winter terms. We enter the Telford and Wrekin Schools competitions, which has an elite and novice competition. The gymnasts compete a line floor routine and two vaults in both competitions.

Facilities

We use a range of facilities which enable us to practice and prepare for the competitions. These include a vault, various springboards, mats, crashmats and a trampette. As well as our Sports Hall, the Performing Arts facilities provide bespoke studios where our students can practice routines and develop key skills.

Session 3 opportunities

Session 3 Gymnastics club runs throughout the autumn and winter terms. Squads train with Miss Law during the week within this session 3 time.
