Early Help at Thomas Telford School
At Thomas Telford School, we are keen to support you, your child, and your family via our dedicated, professional approach with initial support through Personal Tutors and Heads of Year. This is underpinned by our Early Help intervention offer where required.
The offer includes local signposting to relevant external provisions that may be able to help and guide you through the difficulties and challenges often faced by families with school-aged children.
Our offer will begin with an Early Help Assessment (EHA) to identify specific needs. This can include issues affecting education, relationships, housing, finances and behaviour. The purpose of an EHA is to help us work together, identifying the right support at an early point. We will work together on concerns which have the potential to become more significant or complex if not addressed.
Early Help is a voluntary process which may extend to accessing specialist support through a multi-agency approach. As part of our offer, we may suggest and manage referrals to:
- School Nurse/Health Practitioner
- Parenting support courses
- Young person’s behavioural concerns
- Young Carer support
- Adult Carer support
- Family drop-in hub information for T&W
- English Additional Language support available for parents and their children
- Domestic abuse or violence local support offer
