Success in Mooting Competition!

Tue, 09 Apr 2019

Following an outstanding performance in the first round of the mooting competition run by the Law School at the University of Wolverhampton, two pairs of Sixth Form students made up two of just four teams selected to compete in the final of the 2019 Regional Schools Mooting Competition which took place on Monday 8th April.

The students competed in front of external judges from Lanyon Bowdler law practice preparing both prosecution cases and defence responses to a complex legal argument involving an acid attack and the victim’s suicide. All four students presented fluently and eloquently, demonstrating their meticulous preparation, attention to detail and impressive ability to draw on legal precedents and witness testimonies. After a very closely fought battle between all four teams, Alex Evans and Gareth Effiom secured runners up places and considerable praise from the judges.

Well done to all four students who competed and congratulations to the other competitors from Madeley Academy and Sutton Coldfield Grammar School for Girls.
