6.1 BTEC Business Students Visit Cadbury World

Wed, 14 Mar 2018

A visit to Cadbury World gave our 6.1 BTEC Business students a fascinating insight into the rich heritage of the nation's favourite chocolate brand. Whilst touring the site, students were able to discover how the brand has developed from a small Birmingham based business into a global company. Cadbury’s professionally trained Education Team gave an informative talk which covered Cadbury’s products, their competitors and their advertising campaigns, the increasing importance of social media marketing and the power of social media as a marketing tool.

Students also gained an understanding of why business planning tools such as SWOT, PESTLE, Porters Five Forces analysis are used and how aspects such as Corporate and Social Responsibility are utilised by Cadbury to maximise the reputation and profitability of the business. This interactive session helped bring the curriculum topics to life and provided students with a wealth of valuable information which will help them to successfully complete one of their Business assignments. Students ended the visit with a chocolate-making master class, followed by a short film in the new 4D Chocolate Adventure cinema.

A big thank you to Miss Blaney in the Business department for organising such a fantastic trip and helping students link what they are learning in the classroom to a case-study business which many students are familiar with.
