Thomas Telford celebrates National Apprenticeship Week 2018

Thu, 08 Mar 2018

National Apprenticeship Week 2018 is taking place this week and is a week-long celebration designed to showcase how apprenticeships work for individuals, businesses, communities and the wider economy. As many Thomas Telford students go on to secure advanced, higher and degree apprenticeships with some prestigious local and national employers including The Wrekin Housing Trust, Capegemini and KPMG, we are joining in the celebrations this week through activities in tutor time, after school talks and a visit to The Apprenticeship Show at the Telford International Centre.

Former student Ben White, now a degree apprentice at Capgemini came into School on Tuesday 6th March to talk about his experience and give some advice to students interested in careers in IT.

On Tuesday’s Broadcast, students heard from Ewan Griffiths and Matthew Webster, who are now working as apprentices at The Wrekin Housing Trust.  Both passed on some useful advice about how to search and apply for apprenticeships and how the world of work differs from school.
