Harvest 2016

Thu, 27 Oct 2016

The Harvest produce collected by the PT groups was absolutely overwhelming again this year. Your gifts were so generous and filled the whole School minibus. They were taken to St John’s Church where they were arranged around the altar and the font as part of our Year 7 celebration of the Harvest.

Year 7 students attended a service of celebration and thanksgiving where they sang hymns, listened to readings, and reflected on sharing with those in need and gave thanks for what we have. Seven of the students read beautiful prayers and poems which they had written themselves.

The 6.1 choir sang ‘The Colour Purple’ from the musical of the same name which was stunning, and the vicar blessed the Harvest gifts. Your  generous Harvest donations were then passed on to the St Vincent de Paul Society. Our generosity means that the families in Telford receiving these gifts can eat well over the half term break, and the St Vincent de Paul charity can focus on providing school uniform, shoes and warm clothing with their funds.
